Raspberry Fruit Cocktail Recipe Fruit Cocktail Beverage
This sweet and fruity Raspberry Fruit Cocktail is a great choice if you need a drink recipe for a summer party or barbeque. Nothing brings out the irresistible flavours of tender summer fruits like juicing, and the orange liqueur and spices add a wonderfully rounded taste to this unique raspberry drink!
*Note - This drink is equally as tasty WITHOUT the alcohol.Ingredients 2 cinnamon sticks, halved 1 tbsp. whole cloves 1 cup water 1 tbsp. golden caster (superfine) sugar 3 cups fresh strawberries 1 1/2 cup red raspberries 1 cup pitted cherries 1 1/2 cup red currants 4 tbsps. Cointreau or other orange-flavoured liqueur (OPTIONAL) extra cinnamon stick for stirring drinks in glasses (optional) extra cherries and red currants to garnish Directions In a small pan, combine the cinnamon sticks and the cloves, the sugar and water. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves, then bring the mixture to a boil, and boil for 1 minute, stirring often to avoid burning and sticking. Remove above mixture from heat, and allow the syrup to cool. Push the strawberries, raspberries, cherries, and the red currants alternately through a juicer and pour the juice into a large pitcher or jug. See also: How to Make Raspberry Juice. Strain the cooled syrup, (above), through a sieve into the fruit juice, then stir in the liqueur. Serve in small glasses, decorated with the extra cherries and red currants, and serve with the extra cinnamon stirrers, if desired. TIP #1: To make an amazing garnish for this Raspberry Drink, tie a couple of cherry stalks to a stem of red currants and balance these on the edge of each cocktail glass to really impress your guests!:) TIP #2: Frost the rims of glasses by brushing them with lemon juice and then dipping them in sugar. Let the rims dry until ready to use. You can also use "salt" instead of the sugar.
