1 pound (16 ounces)chocolate, broken into small pieces (dark, semi-sweet, or sweet chocolate)
1 1/2 cups light cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract
chopped nuts, optional (pecans, almonds, walnuts or hazelnuts)
Add the broken chocolate pieces to the fondue pot.
Add the light cream, (this will help the chocolate to stay smooth), and stir gently, but constantly until the chocolate and cream are well combined, and mixture is smooth.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
If desired, stir in chopped nuts.
Serve with an assortment of prepared fruit, angel food cake, pound cake, biscotti, marshmallows, and more!
