This is also a great chocolate fondue recipe for a kid's birthday party, made without the liqueur.

*You can substitute the liqueur with decaf coffee instead.

Pressed for time?

Make this fondue the evening before you fondue, keeping it in the fridge over-night. Warm it in the microwave before serving in the fondue pot.

Ingredients

3/4 cup whipping cream (35% cream), not whipped

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tbsp. *liqueur such as hazelnut or Galliano

Directions

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the whipping cream and the chocolate chips.

Microwave on "high" for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until the chocolate is shiny and almost entirely melted.

Stir until smooth consistency.

Whisk the liqueur into the chocolate mixture.

Transfer the mixture to a fondue pot.

Arrange the dipping items on a platter or a cake stand and serve.

If you are organizing a party with many guests, consider multiple "fondue stations" where you have different varieties of fondue dips offered at various areas.

Fondues are not limited to everyone seated around the table ... a "buffet" style will work equally well.

This type of fondue setting will also encourage guest to mingle.
