If you are looking for a Raspberry Brandy Cocktail drink recipe, here is one with a splash of sweet, sugary grenadine added to the jewel-coloured raspberry juice to give it ultimate flavour!
Note - "grenadine" is a sweet, ruby-coloured syrup made from pomegranates. It is popularly used to enhance fruit juices and cocktails.
True grenadine contains no alcohol, but it is also possible to purchase alcoholic versions of this syrup.
2 1/2 cups fresh, red raspberries
1/2 cup grenadine
1/2 cup brandy or cherry brandy
4 cups (1 litre) ginger ale (or your choice of
additional fresh, red raspberries (for garnishing)
Using a juicer, push handfuls of the raspberries through, and transfer the juice to a pitcher or jug. (Or to make juice, see: How to Make Raspberry Juice.)
Stir in the grenadine and brandy (or cherry brandy) into the raspberry juice, and allow the mixture to chill for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Prepare 6 tall glasses, add plenty of ice cubes to each glass, and then place a few extra raspberries in the bottom of the glasses.
Pour the raspberry mixture into each of the prepared glasses and top up the glass with the ginger ale.
