This Easy Raspberry Syrup Recipe makes a great topping for ice cream, sorbet, pound cake or other cake, pudding or as an additive for a refreshing drink or smoothie!
If you want to make more syrup at one time, you can easily increase the ingredient amounts to make the desired quantity.
For a very special dessert presentation, try squirting a "zigzag" of fruit syrup on a dessert plate prior to adding the dessert itself, (for example cheesecake, or another type of cake).
Then add the dessert on top, and you have a great looking dessert!
So easy and fun!
3 cups fresh red raspberries
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup water
In a pan, combine the raspberries, sugar, and water and cook over "medium-high" heat until mixture comes to a boil.
Reduce heat to "medium-low", and allow mixture to simmer for about 5 - 8 minutes, stirring very frequently to avoid sticking and burning.
Remove berry mixture from heat, and allow it to cool for about 15 minutes.
Strain mixture through a fine sieve, pressing down on the solids with the backside of a spoon to extract the liquid.
Keep refrigerated until ready to use.
Makes about 1 cup of delectable syrup!
