I altered the recipe to my liking, and yesterday I asked my daughter if she would bake it. (Thanks Karissa!)
Today I put the finishing touches on it ... and wow! ... it was very easy and fun to make!
It is one of those recipes that may look a little difficult, but is really quick and easy to make.
I just made the sauce from melted, pure seedless raspberry jam. For a really special treat you can make your own amazing raspberry sauce.

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup butter, melted
3 eggs
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 tsp. vegetable oil
3/4 cup fresh raspberries
2 tbsp. seedless raspberry jam
heart shaped baking pan or 9" round pan
Directions
In a bowl, using a whisk or spoon, mix the sugar and the melted butter until well combined.
Add the eggs, and continue to mix.
Add the cocoa, vanilla, salt and flour, and mix until combined.
Pour batter into a greased and floured baking pan.
Bake at 350° F for 40 - 45 minutes, or until done. DO NOT overbake.
Remove cake from the oven, and allow it to cool for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan, and place in on a cake plate.
To Make the White Chocolate Topping:
In a small bowl, melt the white chocolate chips with 1/2 tsp. oil. Using a medium setting, microwave for 15 - 20 minute intervals, stirring often. Continue until smooth.
Place the melted chocolate in an icing piping bag, or a small plastic bag, for example, a "ziploc" bag (see picture above).
Cut a small hole at the end of the icing bag, (or the bottom corner of the ziploc bag), and, using a criss-cross pattern drizzle the chocolate onto the cake (see picture above).
To Make the Raspberry Sauce:
In a small bowl, using a microwave at a medium setting, melt the raspberry jam, for 15 - 20 second intervals, stirring often, until smooth. You may need to add 1 tsp. water to make the consistency thinner.
Arrange the fresh raspberries on top of the cake, and drizzle with the raspberry sauce.
Enjoy this scrumptious Valentine Brownie Cake Recipe ... we sure did!
