This Raspberry Slush Recipe is a LOW FAT refreshing homemade raspberry lemonade drink for kids!
This recipe is made with frozen raspberries ... and ... for those of you who do not like raspberry seeds ... the seeds are removed with a cheesecloth or strainer! ;)
This slushie recipe makes about 24 - 1/2 cup servings.
2 pkgs. (10 ounce size) frozen raspberries in syrup, slightly thawed
2 cans (6 ounce size) frozen pink lemonade concentrate, partially thawed
1 1/2 cups water
1 3/4 cups ice cubes
1 bottle (1 litre size) lemon-lime carbonated beverage, chilled
In a blender, add 1/2 of the raspberries, lemonade, water and ice cubes and blend until smooth.
Strain the above mixture to remove the raspberry seeds, using a cheesecloth or jelly bag strainer.
Repeat the above blending and straining process with the other half of the raspberries, lemonade, water and ice cubes.
Freeze the strained mixture for 10 - 12 hours, or overnight.
When ready to be served, remove the mixture from the freezer, and allow it to stand at room temperature until it is a "slushy" consistency.
Scoop into individual glasses, and gently stir in the carbonated beverage. (Or, pour the mixture into a punch bowl, and gently stir in the carbonated beverage.)
Makes about 24 servings (of 1/2 cup each).
